ARC 2019
Our inaugural Art for the Recovery Community festival was held on May 29, 2019 at Publik Coffee in downtown Salt Lake City.
We had 22 local artists, all in recovery, participate in the festival’s gallery exhibition and evening concert. Our gallery artists presented work including photography, printmaking, sketches, oil and acrylic paintings, sculpture, jewelry, and custom tarot cards. Our evening concert featured performances from the band Beard of Bees and several incredible local poets.
The evening also included a charity raffle-drawing for artwork donated by our gallery artists. We were able to donate $1700 to the VOA’s Center for Women and Children with these proceeds, as well as several beautiful pieces of art to display in the program’s residential center.
Thank you so much to everyone who joined us in making our first ARC such a success - not only our artists, but also the friends, family, and members of both the recovery community and our wider community who came out to show their support. The conversations, connections, and inspirations we drew from the artwork and each other were unique and deeply inspiring. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
